This is Burgundy Pelzman she is eight years old and doing pretty good right now. She was started on the ketogenic diet in June which seems to be going well. we have weined her off of Keppra and some of her Phenobarb. she is still on Zonegram, trileptol, phenobarb, Carnitor, and a multiviatimin. She had alot of troubles with her seizures back in may and June and was hospitalized 1 time for seizures 1 time with pnemonia and then again to start the diet all in about a month. when we were in for the seizures her doctor told me that she may go into a seizure and not come out of it. well the next week her fever was 104 and is went into a seizure for 9 hours. I was so scared. but when her fever broke she came out of it. any way she used to have 2-3 seizures a day for 5-10 min. now we see 1-2 at 2-3 mins. and some days we don't see any. We found out she had Aicardi Syndrome when she was about 2 months old. We didn't want to believe it so we took her to the Mayo Clinic for a second opinion. It was true and we spent about 1/2 of her first 4 years in the hospital and then for the next 4 not one hospital stay but we have a some down times again lately but I think things are going pretty good again now. Well about our Family. My name is Tammy I am Burgundy's mom. Her dad's name is Bernard. I have a 10 year old (Kilee) she is a half sister to burgie, Then there is my 6 year old (Raylee) is is a full sister to Burgie. Then there is Bernie's other daughter who is 4 years old (Danica). So that leaves us with me raising my 3 by myself. I am also a full time student and I do daycare full time. I just started to receive respite care for burgundy in sept. but this is all for now.
