I have found this to be a rather healthy helper for constipation. My doctor suggested that Maia eat it every afternoon and to use a babybifidus supplement as well. Made a huge difference IMMEDIATELY. I usually make it up in batches to last for 3-4 days. It keeps very well.

1 Granny Smith apple (peeled)
1 pear (peeled)
2-3 prunes
1 tbsp olive oil

Cook the first three for about 20 mins in enough water to cover (you can adjust the liquid according to how watery you would like the resulting compote to be) and let cool. Blend to a fine consistency and add oil. You can also add bran if the problem is really stubborn but this usually does the trick on its own. Someone wrote in once and added that they put cinnamon and cloves in the water and I must say- makes the house smell like Granny's.
