I am the step-mother of Hayleigh, an AS child. I love her to peices. I haven't been there through it all, but I met Hayleigh when she was 4. She can walk on her own. She does have "drop seizures" and needs to wear a helmet when she walks alone. She goes to school. She eats solid foods such as mac-n-cheese, and peanut butter and jelly sandwich's. She dosen't chew her food though, just swallows so it has to be small bites. She loves to swing and be outdoors. She just got a new swing for x-mas, that im sure she will love this spring, and fit much better. We were still using a baby swing that we made to fit her, we just couldn't take it away she loves it so much. We even have a hammock swing in the house for her, seen how we live where it snows. She does get angry and throw things or hit, but i think its due to her lack of communication. She dosen't talk the only word she says is "yeah".
Hayleigh has one Brother Logan who is 5, A step-sister Blaise who is 8 (like Hayleigh), and a step-brother Kiyler who is 5 also. We have a very busy family. Hayleigh loves to play with Blaise and Chase her. Hayleighs favorie pet is Snowball our black cat, and he loves her too (she is always dropping food when she eats).
Hayleigh only takes night time meds now. She takes a canadian drug for seziures. A behavorial drug. A natural sleep aid.
